PERESLAVL ZALESSKI AND ALEXANDROV

2 days/1 night

Since 1152, the ancient Pereyaslavl-Zalessky, the residence of Yury Dolgorukov who founded it, stretches on the shore of Lake Pleshcheyevo. For a long time the city remained the center of an independent principality and the main strategic center on the way to the only seaport of the Russian state - Arkhangelsk. It played an important role in the formation of a single Russian state.
Travelers will get acquainted with the amazing sights of the city and the Spaso-Preobrazhenski Cathedral (1152 A.C.) in which they baptized Prince Alexander Nevsky, and the church that was later built in his name. During the tour of the museum-reserve "Gorki Monastery" tourists will be shown a rare collection of ancient icons. After lunch, we will go down to Lake Pleshcheyevo, in order to admire the stern and majestic view of the Nikitsky Monastery. We will come to the “blue stone” to make secret wishes.
Further, our route passes through the Smolenskoye estate of the Svinyini nobility, where we will get acquainted with the legends associated with this monument, with amazing people - the Opalivy spouses, the school’s teachers who are currently housed in the estate, walk along a colossal park. Next, we will make our way for the old city of Alexandrov.
Our next day begins with a visit to the residence of Ivan the Terrible, where we will get a "royal reception" and an interesting tour of the halls of the museum. After lunch, we will pass by a cup of tea with the famous and highly respected merchant Pervushin. Here, travelers turn into long-awaited guests of a merchant family and become participants in an amusing performance. The last sight of our program will be a visit to the Buturlin - Krutets manor, located in a surprisingly beautiful place, among the pines on the steep bank of a meandering river.
